In regular episodes, no one would stand up for Quark because they always expect him to take advantage of them in some way, and see him as the con artist. In this realm, his admiration to Benny is heartwarming. He looks beyond race and color and sees someone for what they are: Talent and skill. His stand for Benny is the perfect antithesis of his character he portrays, though they did have several very good episodes to show Quark wasn't always selfish.

If only we got to see how Zek and Ishka reacted on seeing Quark's display of bravery in the Klingon Council. Too bad it was never mentioned later on other than Jadzia narrating the story to Worf. I can only imagine the looks on Zek's and Ishka's faces.

Garak was one of the best characters in the entire Star Trek universe (that I have watched so-far anyway).
